Settings

TCPIP
We have configured your CPE (Customer Premise Equipment) when we installed your connection.
The standard configuration is set to use the following settings
1. Your Public IP Address is assigned to the Radio Card of the CPE
2. Your Private IP Address is provided to you via DHCP, with the following config
............. IP Address in the Range 192.168.1.100 --> 192.168.1.250
............. Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
............. Default Gateway is 192.168.1.251
............. Primary DNS is 84.203.210.178
............. Secondary DNS is 208.67.222.222
3. If you wish to use static IP's please do not use any from the range above
4. The CPE is acting as a firewall, and blocking all access from external users to your network
............. If you require port forwarding from your Public IP to a Private IP, We will port forward to 192.168.1.99
............. Please contact us to arrange the required ports to be forwarded.
5. We are doing NAT from the Private IP Addresses to your Public IP, So that all connections to the Internet are seen as coming from your Public IP.

If you require a Public IP Range on your LAN, You will need to complete a RIPE Application with the reasons why you require the IP's & for these to be accpeted by RIPE. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.

EMAIL

Cork Community Broadband doesn't provide email addresses to our customers, as so many free email services are available on the internet, for example Hotmail and Yahoo mail,
But we are supporting our customers outbound email requirements, by providing outbound email servers for your use while on our network.

Primary Outgoing email server: smtp1.ccbisp.net
Secondary Outgoing email server: smtp2.ccbisp.net

Proxy Server

Cork Community Broadband has created a Proxy server to speed up access to common internet sites,
Our Proxy server allows faster access to web sites by;
1. Keeping a copy of commonly accessed web sites
2. Allowing Faster access to the pages on the Proxy Server
............ (Usually twice as fast as your package allows)
3. Only using stored content, when the "Live" content hasn't changed
........... (so you always connect to the latest version of the site)

To use our Proxy Server, you must set the following for your internet settings;
Proxy = proxy1.ccbisp.net
Port = 8080

It isn't a requirement to use our Proxy server to get internet access, but it is available if you wish faster internet browsing
